Imitation Jewellery Price in Bangladesh (CIF) - 2022
The average imitation jewellery import price stood at $9,818 per ton in 2022, dropping by -32% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 119%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $17,299 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($13,106 per ton), while the price for India ($2,883 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+15.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Imitation Jewellery Price in Bangladesh (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average imitation jewellery export price amounted to $26,488 per ton, which is down by -20.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 173%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $62,515 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($46,435 per ton), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($3,594 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+13.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imitation Jewellery Imports in Bangladesh
Imitation jewellery imports into Bangladesh shrank to 2.5K tons in 2022, with a decrease of -2.8% on the previous year's figure. In general, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +12.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +47.2% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak of $37M, and then contracted notably in the following year.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, imitation jewellery exports surged to $2M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a noticeable reduction.
