Honey Price in Jordan (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average honey import price amounted to $3,764 per ton, picking up by 1.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 27% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $5,887 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were the United Arab Emirates ($3,764 per ton) and India ($3,764 per ton), while the price for New Zealand ($3,763 per ton) and Lebanon ($3,763 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Honey Price in Jordan (FOB) - 2022

The average honey export price stood at $7,154 per ton in 2022, picking up by 58% against the previous year. Overall, the export price enjoyed mild growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 108%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $19,217 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($17,202 per ton), while the average price for exports to Free Zones ($4,626 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kuwait (+34.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Honey Imports in Jordan

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of honey, when their volume decreased by -33.3% to 1.2K tons. In general, imports, however, saw strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 51%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 1.7K tons, and then fell significantly in the following year.

In value terms, honey imports shrank rapidly to $4.4M in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a mild downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 27%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $6.5M, and then plummeted in the following year.

Honey Exports in Jordan

In 2022, overseas shipments of honey decreased by -66.2% to 62 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, exports, however, recorded significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 208%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 184 tons, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, honey exports contracted remarkably to $446K in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a deep setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 24%.
