Gypsum and Anhydrite Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average gypsum and anhydrite export price amounted to $23 per ton, increasing by 66% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a noticeable descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 92%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $63 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Cameroon ($113 per ton), while the average price for exports to Israel ($8 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+73.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Gypsum and Anhydrite Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2023
In September 2023, the average gypsum and anhydrite import price amounted to $26.5 per ton, picking up by 14% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, faced a sharp downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 1,888% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $723 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Greece.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Greece amounted to -27.1% per month.
Gypsum and Anhydrite Exports in Turkey
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of gypsum and anhydrite, when their volume decreased by -59.8% to 144K tons. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a notable expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 152% against the previous year.
In value terms, gypsum and anhydrite exports shrank rapidly to $3.3M in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 149% against the previous year.
