Green Coffee Price in Belarus (CIF) - 2022
The average green coffee import price stood at $4,405 per ton in March 2022, picking up by 14% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated tangible growth from March 2021 to March 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.1% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on March 2022 figures, green coffee import price increased by +19.2% against June 2021 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2021 an increase of 35% month-to-month. The import price peaked in March 2022.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Ethiopia ($5,795 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($3,211 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Green Coffee Price in Belarus (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average green coffee export price amounted to $6,050 per ton, picking up by 26% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 213%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $20,000 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($14,204 per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia ($4,995 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Uzbekistan (+31.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Green Coffee Imports in Belarus
In 2022, overseas purchases of coffee (green) decreased by -31.2% to 1.6K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, imports saw a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 9.4%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 2.3K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, green coffee imports surged to $8.5M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +15.5% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +62.0% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
