Glass Fibre Mat Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2021
The average glass fibre mat import price stood at $2,749 per ton in December 2021, picking up by 2.4% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.9%. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2021 an increase of 22% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum in December 2021.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($5,702 per ton), while the price for Egypt ($1,735 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Glass Fibre Mat Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2021
In December 2021, the average glass fibre mat export price amounted to $3,153 per ton, growing by 7.3% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated buoyant growth from December 2020 to December 2021: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +5.5% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2021 figures, glass fibre mat export price increased by +61.3% against May 2021 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2021 when the average export price increased by 24% month-to-month. The export price peaked in December 2021.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($12,344 per ton), while the average price for exports to Croatia ($2,193 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Uzbekistan (+18.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Glass Fibre Mat Imports in Turkey
In 2022, supplies from abroad of glass fibre mats decreased by -4.8% to 8.6K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.6% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 19%.
In value terms, glass fibre mat imports shrank to $17M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +10.1% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +33.6% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 29%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $20M, and then shrank in the following year.

Glass Fibre Mat Exports in Turkey
After three years of growth, shipments abroad of glass fibre mats decreased by -30.7% to 582 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 147%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 840 tons, and then contracted notably in the following year.
In value terms, glass fibre mat exports dropped remarkably to $1.2M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a significant expansion.
