Fruit Price in Kuwait (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average fruit import price amounted to $860 per ton, declining by -3.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, fruit import price increased by +59.5% against 2012 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $890 per ton in 2021, and then fell slightly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Yemen ($1,438 per ton), while the price for Ecuador ($450 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Philippines (+15.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fruit Price in Kuwait (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average fruit export price amounted to $512 per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, fruit export price increased by +21.8% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the average export price increased by 35%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $518 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($2,166 per ton), while the average price for exports to Iran ($309 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+23.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fruit Imports in Kuwait
In 2022, the amount of fruits imported into Kuwait declined to 340K tons, shrinking by -10.7% on 2021. In general, imports recorded a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 4.3%.
In value terms, fruit imports dropped to $292M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a mild decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 8.9% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $339M, and then dropped in the following year.

Fruit Exports in Kuwait
In 2022, overseas shipments of fruits decreased by less than 0.1% to 48K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, exports recorded a slight contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 13%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 56K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, fruit exports fell modestly to $24M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +5.7% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 24% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $26M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
