Frozen Crustaceans Price in Singapore (CIF) - 2022
In September 2022, the average frozen crustaceans import price amounted to $12,334 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a temperate increase from September 2021 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.5% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, frozen crustaceans import price increased by +26.2% against June 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2022 an increase of 42% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure in September 2022.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Canada ($27,924 per ton), while the price for China ($6,604 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (+6.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In September 2022, the average frozen crustaceans export price amounted to $30,689 per ton, jumping by 60% against the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 when the average export price increased by 198% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in September 2022.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Qatar ($92,150 per ton), while the average price for exports to Brunei Darussalam ($11,141 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+8.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Frozen Crustaceans Imports in Singapore
In 2022, frozen crustaceans imports into Singapore rose notably to 17K tons, growing by 14% on the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.8% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 25% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
