Dry Vegetable Price in Singapore (CIF) - 2022

The average dry vegetable import price stood at $3,182 per ton in 2022, reducing by -4.5% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a slight slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 20% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $3,911 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($10,736 per ton), while the price for Italy ($958 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+10.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average dry vegetable export price amounted to $4,342 per ton, growing by 62% against the previous year. Overall, the export price posted measured growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 144%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($11,179 per ton), while the average price for exports to Oman ($1,324 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Africa (+8.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Dry Vegetable Imports in Singapore

Dry vegetable imports into Singapore reduced to 3.6K tons in 2022, which is down by -7.2% against the year before. Over the period under review, imports saw a slight slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 14%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 3.9K tons, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, dry vegetable imports dropped to $11M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 22% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $13M, and then reduced in the following year.

In value terms, dry vegetable exports reduced modestly to $785K in 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw a abrupt setback.
