Copper Wire Price in the Netherlands (CIF) - 2023

The average copper wire import price stood at $8,878 per ton in August 2023, remaining stable against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 35% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $10,479 per ton. From January 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from France ($9,235 per ton) and Italy ($9,151 per ton), while the price for Peru ($7,411 per ton) and Germany ($7,958 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average copper wire export price amounted to $11,408 per ton, increasing by 10% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, copper wire export price increased by +28.8% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 17% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($22,884 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($8,840 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
