Citrus Fruit Price in Switzerland (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average citrus fruit import price amounted to $1,446 per ton, shrinking by -5.9% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.3%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 14% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $1,536 per ton in 2021, and then declined in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($2,299 per ton), while the price for Greece ($1,034 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Greece (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average citrus fruit export price amounted to $2,009 per ton, jumping by 36% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated modest growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. In 2022, overseas purchases of citrus fruits decreased by -2.3% to 150K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 9.7%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 159K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period.
