In 2022, the average carbon disulphide import price amounted to $1,063 per ton, surging by 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a precipitous decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 31%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $52,505 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($5,960 per ton), while the price for Germany ($746 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (-11.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Carbon Disulphide Imports in Kuwait
In 2022, purchases abroad of carbon disulphides decreased by -4.1% to 5.4 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.4% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 39%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 5.9 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, carbon disulphide imports expanded notably to $5.7K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a abrupt setback.
