Canned Pineapple Price in Kenya (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average canned pineapple export price amounted to $1,474 per ton, rising by 4% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the average export price increased by 14%. The export price peaked at $1,618 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($2,085 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($1,239 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+0.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Canned Pineapple Price in Kenya (CIF) - 2022
The average canned pineapple import price stood at $2,042 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -5.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 122% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,156 per ton in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($2,729 per ton), while the price for Tanzania ($590 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+15.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Canned Pineapple Exports in Kenya
In 2022, the amount of canned pineapples exported from Kenya skyrocketed to 41K tons, with an increase of 20% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern.
In value terms, canned pineapple exports soared to $61M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years.

Canned Pineapple Imports in Kenya
