Beer Price in Singapore (CIF) - 2022
In September 2022, the average beer import price amounted to $1.6 per litre, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous month. Over the last eight-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2022 when the average import price increased by 17% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1.6 per litre; afterwards, it flattened through to September 2022.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Ireland ($2.2 per litre), while the price for Malaysia ($776 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Beer Price in Singapore (FOB) - 2022
The average beer export price stood at $1.9 per litre in September 2022, remaining stable against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2022 when the average export price increased by 52% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $3.0 per litre. From June 2022 to September 2022, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($3.1 per litre), while the average price for exports to Australia ($1.2 per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Beer Imports in Singapore
In 2022, approx. 101M litres of beer were imported into Singapore; approximately equating the previous year. Overall, imports showed a abrupt decline. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at 135M litres in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
