Exports from Suriname

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Haiti, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2018, the amount of rice imported into Suriname amounted to X tons, falling by -X% against the previous year. In general, rice imports continue to indicate a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, rice imports attained their maximum at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2018, imports failed to regain their momentum.

In value terms, rice imports amounted to $X in 2018. Over the period under review, rice imports continue to indicate an abrupt decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 when imports increased by X% year-to-year.
