In 2023, shipments abroad of shelled hazelnuts decreased by X% to X tons for the first time since 2020, thus ending a two-year rising trend. In general, exports, however, recorded significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2023, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, shelled hazelnut exports soared to $X in 2023. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2023, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Ukraine (X tons) was the main destination for shelled hazelnut exports from Russia, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, shelled hazelnut exports to Ukraine exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Belarus (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Mongolia (X tons), with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2023, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Ukraine amounted to X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (X% per year) and Mongolia (X% per year).
