From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to dry bean imports into India stood at +1.9%. At the same time, China (+27.4%), Iraq (+25.9%), the United Arab Emirates (+17.4%), Vietnam (+14.1%), Pakistan (+6.2%), Indonesia (+6.2%), Italy (+2.6%) and the United States (+1.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, China emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +27.4% from 2012-2021. The UK experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Mexico (-3.1%), Japan (-4.3%) and Brazil (-13.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (+6.8 p.p.), Vietnam (+3 p.p.), Iraq (+2.1 p.p.) and the United Arab Emirates (+1.8 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global imports, while Japan, Mexico and Brazil saw its share reduced by -1.5%, -2.3% and -6.7% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, India ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported beans (dry) into Puerto Rico, comprising 19% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a 7.2% share of global imports. It was followed by the United States, with a 5.4% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in India stood at +4.5%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+30.3% per year) and the United States (+1.5% per year).
