In value terms, acetic acid exports declined to $X in 2023. Over the period under review, exports, however, faced a abrupt descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Russia prevails in exports structure, finishing at X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2023. Poland (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Bulgaria (X tons). All these countries together held near X% share of total exports. Estonia (X tons) and Lithuania (X tons) held a little share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2023, average annual rates of growth with regard to acetic acid exports from Russia stood at X%. At the same time, Bulgaria (X%) and Estonia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Bulgaria emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. By contrast, Lithuania (X%) and Poland (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2023, declining by X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2022, and then shrank sharply in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2023, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per ton), while Bulgaria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Acetic acid imports fell sharply to X tons in 2023, declining by X% compared with the previous year. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a perceptible descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, acetic acid imports reduced remarkably to $X in 2023. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2022 to 2023, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Poland dominates imports structure, amounting to X tons, which was near X% of total imports in 2023. Ukraine (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with an X% share, followed by Romania (X%) and the Czech Republic (X%). Russia (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons) took a minor share of total imports.
Poland experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of acetic acid. At the same time, the Czech Republic (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Czech Republic emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. Bulgaria experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Romania (X%), Hungary (X%), Ukraine (X%) and Russia (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Poland (X p.p.) and the Czech Republic (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Russia saw its share reduced by X% from 2012 to 2023, respectively.
