From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, vegetable exports expanded remarkably to $X in 2021. In general, exports posted strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 89%. The exports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Canada (X tons), Jamaica (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main destinations of vegetable exports from Cuba, together accounting for 89% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by France (with a CAGR of +42.7%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

In value terms, the largest markets for vegetable exported from Cuba were Canada ($X), France ($X) and the Netherlands ($X), together accounting for 95% of total exports.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 142%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, vegetable imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a mild contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 130% against the previous year.
