In Russia, dry peas production expanded at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012-2023. The remaining producing countries recorded the following average annual rates of production growth: Kazakhstan (X% per year) and Belarus (X% per year).

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2022, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, dry peas imports contracted markedly to $X in 2023. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2022, and then declined rapidly in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2023, Kyrgyzstan (X tons) represented the largest importer of peas (dry), creating X% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X tons), Kazakhstan (X tons) and Russia (X tons), together generating a X% share of total imports. The following importers - Tajikistan (X tons), Belarus (X tons) and Moldova (X tons) - each resulted at an X% share of total imports.
Kyrgyzstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the peas (dry) imports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Kazakhstan (X%), Moldova (X%) and Uzbekistan (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Tajikistan and Belarus experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Russia (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Kyrgyzstan (X p.p.), Uzbekistan (X p.p.) and Kazakhstan (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2023, the share of Belarus (X p.p.), Tajikistan (X p.p.) and Russia (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest dry peas importing markets in the CIS were Kyrgyzstan ($X), Russia ($X) and Kazakhstan ($X), with a combined X% share of total imports.
In terms of the main importing countries, Kyrgyzstan, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2023, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, with a decrease of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a abrupt decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the import price increased by X%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2023, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
