The average dry bean yield stood at X kg per ha in 2023, standing approx. at the year before. In general, the yield, however, continues to indicate a perceptible slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the yield attained the peak level of X kg per ha. From 2014 to 2023, the growth of the dry bean yield failed to regain momentum. After three years of growth, shipments abroad of beans (dry) decreased by X% to X tons in 2023. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a slight setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X%. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, dry bean exports shrank modestly to $X in 2023. In general, exports recorded a pronounced descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Myanmar prevails in exports structure, accounting for X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2023. It was distantly followed by China (X tons) and India (X tons), together making up a X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Australia (X tons), Thailand (X tons) and Afghanistan (X tons) - each recorded a X% share of total exports.

Myanmar experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of beans (dry). At the same time, India (X%), Afghanistan (X%) and Thailand (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, India emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. By contrast, Australia (X%) and China (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Myanmar (X p.p.), India (X p.p.) and Afghanistan (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while China saw its share reduced by X% from 2012 to 2023, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Myanmar ($X) remains the largest dry bean supplier in Asia-Pacific, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by India, with a X% share.
