Exports of Parts Of Harvester And Threshers

Exports in Central Asia

In 2021, overseas shipments of parts of harvester and threshers decreased by -39.7% to X units, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, exports, however, posted moderate growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 177%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, parts of harvester and threshers exports contracted notably to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, saw a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 70%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2020, and then fell sharply in the following year.

Exports by Country

Kazakhstan (X units) and Kyrgyzstan (X units) represented roughly 81% of total exports in 2021. Mongolia (X units) ranks next in terms of the total exports with an 11% share, followed by Uzbekistan (8.1%).

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Mongolia (with a CAGR of +85.0%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In value terms, Kyrgyzstan ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Mongolia ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 95% share of total exports.

Mongolia, with a CAGR of +82.7%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, growing by 7.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed mild growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 60%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mongolia ($X per unit), while Uzbekistan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kyrgyzstan (+9.0%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in Central Asia

In 2021, overseas purchases of parts of harvester and threshers decreased by -21.7% to X units, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 74% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, parts of harvester and threshers imports dropped notably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 54%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Kazakhstan represented the main importing country with an import of about X units, which amounted to 60% of total imports. Kyrgyzstan (X units) took a 25% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Uzbekistan (8.9%). Turkmenistan (X units) and Mongolia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Imports into Kazakhstan increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan (+38.3%) and Turkmenistan (+7.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kyrgyzstan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +38.3% from 2012-2021. Mongolia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Uzbekistan (-14.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Kyrgyzstan (+22 p.p.) and Uzbekistan (+8.9 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Mongolia (-2.2 p.p.) and Kazakhstan (-26.8 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported parts of harvester and threshers in Central Asia, comprising 59% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by Kyrgyzstan, with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Kazakhstan stood at +5.7%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Uzbekistan (-9.5% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (+38.5% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, reducing by -16.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 42%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit, and then declined notably in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkmenistan ($X per unit), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
