Over the period under review, consumption, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, table linen exports dropped to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a noticeable downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Egypt (X tons) was the main exporter of table linen, knitted or crocheted, creating X% of total exports. South Africa (X tons) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Tunisia (X%). The following exporters - Madagascar (X tons) and Guinea (X tons) - each resulted at a X% share of total exports.

Exports from Egypt decreased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Guinea (X%) and Tunisia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Guinea emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Africa, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022.
